This is a powerful exercise that shows you the light and the darkness within yourself and tells you what you can do to bring you freedom and peace within.
Think of someone who bothers you and list five or ten qualities or behaviours that they exhibit that annoy you. Do the same with someone whom you really love or admire. When you have done that, circle your top three in each list, the three that most resonate with you.
Now look at the list and see if you can see yourself in the six behaviours or qualities that you have circled. Look at the list of person that bothers you. These qualities could be things that you have buried in yourself, that you need to address and acknowledge. When you do this, it will allow you to come into compassion and kindness, and it allows you to have more peace in that relationship. We all have light and darkness within us.
If you can see yourself in the person whom you love or admire, then maybe these are qualities that you need to open up to more or explore more within yourself, or maybe you just need to own them and realise that you have those qualities or gifts too.
This powerful exercies can be done with as many people as you like, from your past or present. Try it. It will give you such a deep sense of peace.
