What is it like to have a successful Feng Shui business?
We’re bringing you a new series of blog posts where we interview past Feng Shui Master Certification students about their Feng Shui business and why they chose to become a Feng Shui consultant.
Our first interview is with the lovely Najah Abdus-Salaam.
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I am a licensed acupuncturist since 2013 and have been practicing Classical Feng Shui since 2014 after taking your amazing Feng Shui Certification course at Marina Village. I have shared my feng shui and knowledge over the years with my patients and clients, providing yearly Feng Shui consultations for my clients as their lives grew and shifted. I can say that I have ‘specialized’ in home Classical Feng Shui consultations, and I absolutely love them!
What made you decide to become a certified master in Feng Shui?
It was as if becoming a master in Feng Shui found me. After learning the in-depth knowledge and art of Chinese Medicine, an opportunity presented itself to me to assist Tiffany Hansen in videoing your certification course, where I would be able to participate and receive my certification. I am so very grateful for that opportunity because I have always been able to tap into this other wealth of information for my patients – especially the ones that are having a hard time getting better.
What is your favorite part of being a Feng Shui consultant?
I love watching the shift of energy that happens in a home from the beginning of a session to the end after the clearing. And also, hearing the positive changes that happen in each of my clients’ lives after our session. I also love how it gives me another lens to look through as I step into a person’s home. Where I am able to really get a sense of their struggles/accomplishments/limitations and the like. And my most favorite part of being a Feng Shui consultant is coming up with creative ways to provide guidance and support during these challenging times. I’ve created a cool product that allows a person to do their own compass reading at home (with other tools), and then I step in as their guide through the entire process.
What does a day in your life typically look like?
A typical day in my life looks like: smudging my home and space, meditating, exercising, treating my patients, assisting my clients in their Feng Shui needs, spending time with my loved ones, and my two adorable kitties, Johnny and Brida.
What would you say has been your proudest moment as a Feng Shui consultant?
I would have to say that my proudest moment as a Feng Shui Consultant has been the day I created my At-Home Feng Shui Kit with a Preliminary Reading in my shop on Etsy.
What do you think is the most important part of Feng Shui?
Feng Shui brings peace, calm, tranquility, romance, relaxation, and love into a home. I just love feeling a space where these attributes are present and abundant. My wish is for everyone to have a home like this.
Are there any words of wisdom you would offer to someone interested in becoming a Feng Shui consultant?
Do it. The world needs all the light bearers it can get. And although the course isn’t titled ‘Light Bearers’, rest assured that your amazing teacher, Amanda does just that. She teaches you how to bring the light into your home and every one of your client’s homes. It is truly a blessing!
